On a much smaller scale I paint stones. I purchase my stones legally from garden centres in Hampshire and select stones which have the right feel to them.
I am often asked when I am selling my painted stones at craft fayres if I can paint a portrait of a favourite pet onto a stone as a birthday present for someone. Because my painted stones are coated with outdoor varnish, many people use them to help decorate their gardens.
Painted horoscope stones are always popular too. I have recently started doing stone painting workshops at fetes and children’s parties.
Children have such amazing imaginations, and love to get out the glitter and glitz to make wonderful painted butterfly stones or painted dinosaur stones. If I am doing a stone painting workshop for a children’s party, the birthday child always gets their own special stone painted by myself as a present. I recently painted two seahorse stones for sisters with birthdays close together.
