I am very proud to say that I am a fully certified Powertex tutor.
I can still vividly remember how excited I was when I travelled to Stratford to make my first powertex angel under the tuition of the lovely Tracey Evans who runs The Secret Art Loft.
That workshop was everything I hoped it would be, and more. It was on that workshop that Tracey mentioned to me that they were looking to train up people to become tutors to run powertex workshops throughout the UK, and would I be interested in doing this.
That had to be one of the easiest questions to answer ever. Yes I was very interested. Then came the crunch. Like everything worthwhile, the training to become a qualified powertex facilitator comes at a cost.
To my mind this cost is money well spent. If you book a workshop with someone who is a qualified Powertex tutor, you know that you will be getting value for money. You know this because we are trained in every aspect of powertex, by the experts at Powertex UK. These are people who know this product inside out. If you book a workshop with a qualified Powertex tutor, you will be booking with someone who has invested in their training, and you can be sure that they are serious about giving you the best possible service.
One of the selling points for my workshops is that I truly believe that everyone can make something beautiful with Powertex. I guess it is inevitable, as Powertex grows in popularity, that workshops will start to spring up run by people who have not undergone the current and relevant Powertex training. I also have no doubt that these workshops will be perfectly adequate. However Powertex is an evolving product, with more exciting variations coming out on a regular basis. By booking on a workshop with a qualified Powertex tutor you can be sure of receiving the highest quality of tuition possible. Plus of course, the opportunity to purchase more powertex should you wish to continue creating in the comfort of your own home.
There is also the security of having ongoing back up. I regularly get customers phoning me asking for advice on questions such as, how can they incorporate powertex into a mixed media canvas. I can usually help them out immediately, but the beauty of belonging to the
Powertex team is that if I don’t know the answer, I will be able to find out quickly and easily.
Each qualified powretex facilitator has their own post code area to work in. Mine is the SO area. Rightly or wrongly I have never been comfortable with cut throat business. I would be booted off The Apprentice in no time whatsoever. One of the things I love best about being part of the Powertex team of distributors, is that we really do all support each other. If I get an enquiry for a workshop that is out of my designated area, I will forward this on to the relevant powertex distributor.
I am now fully qualified and trained to level 4 as a powertex facilitator. This means that I can offer fully comprehensive training in fabric sculpting, stone art easy 3 d flex and powerwax which is a wonderful medium and can add a real depth to your work. As more new and exciting powertex products continue to be produced, I will continue to keep my qualifications up to date, to ensure that I can offer the best value for money powertex workshops in the SO area.

I hold a current DBS certificate, and I am also a fellow of the prestigious Lloyds Social Entrepreneur Start Up Scheme. I am looking forward to using the knowledge I gain from this to expand my workshops so that they can be used in a therapeutic sense by people who are feeling isolated from society.
I think the workshops I am most proud of however are my Art 4 A Heart Workshops – which make a financial donation directly to the Papworth Hospital Charity www.papworthhospitalcharity.org.uk
