I can hardly believe we are almost half way through the year already. If you’re one of the people who regularly attends my Art 4 A Heart Powertex Workshops, then a huge thank you to you. Because of this I am able to send away a regular donation to the amazing Papworth Hospital Charity.

I recently had a relaxing week away in Portugal, but did collect some gorgeous shells to use in some of my workshops – look at these beauties

Shells for Powertex Workshops

Gorgeous Shells – I did check and it is legal to collect them 🙂

So after a relatively quiet June and July – when I had set aside important family time, August is looking nice and busy again – here is what I am up to, and how to book@

Fri 10 Aug – interview with Julian Clegg, BBC Radio Solent

art 4 a heart powertex interview

After my initial nervousness I am quite enjoying being interviewed on radio

After my initial nervousness I am quite enjoying being interviewed about my Art 4 A Heart Powertex Workshops and the reason behind them.

I am so delighted to have been chosen as one of Julian Clegg’s ‘people’ because of my work raising money for the Papworth Hospital Charity with my Art 4 A Heart Powertex Workshops. Curtis from the station has been along to a workshop himself and made a gorgeous fairy house, and the team are so supportive in helping get my message out there so I am looking forward to this follow up interview in August.

Sat 11 Aug Petlake Alpaca Farm Open Day

How wonderful to get to spend a day with these handsome fellows

Historically I have always face painted at this event, but having made the decision to stop that side of the business to concentrate on my Art 4 A Heart Powertex Workshops, I am really pleased that they have invited me back to run a Powertex stall this year.

Tue 14 Aug Powertex Dragon Egg Workshop

I am back at Inspired & Create in the gorgeous village of Sway, New Forest for an Art 4 A Heart Powertex Workshop that both children and adults will love – Dragon Eggs, or Drablings as I have nicknamed them as they are a mixture of dragon and bling. I just adore those with beady little dragon eyes peeking out at you. Booking via Inspired & Create

ok, we might not be quite this dainty about it, but we will be having a tea party

Love, love, love doing workshops at the Crafty Bug Community Cafe in Woolston, Southampton. And this time Lisa who runs it has decided to throw in a tea party as well. The fun starts at 2.30 pm and early booking is highly recommended as she has sold lots of tickets already. Tickets available from The Crafty Bug Cafe, or myself www.artandmurals.co.uk

Sunday 26/Monday 27 Aug – Hampshire Open Art Studios

I will be doing some small powertex make & take workshops at Unit 11 Studios

I’m very excited that the Unit 11 Studios, Mount Pleasant Industria Estate, Fairways House, Southampton, SO14 0SP are taking part in Hampshire Open Studios again this year. I will be there on Sun 26th and Monday 27th August and if you want to have a little play with Powertex you will be very welcome to do so.

My extremely talented artist friend Sue Kerrigan Harris is also taking part and has very kindly offered to put some of my sculptures on display at her house as well. If you’ve not checked out Sue’s work yet, please do, she is absolutely amazing and it was Sue I turned to when I wanted to do a portrait as a present for someone that was slightly different to my usual style.

No idea who this person is, but apparently he is in a series called the Walking Dead

Two lessons from her and this is what I was able to give to my Walking Dead obsessed niece. Obviously I would never sell any work like this due to copyright, but this was just a present for a very lovely young lady.

Phew, that’s how my August is looking. Hope you have a great one, and that you get to enjoy some sunshine with the people that matter most to you. It would be lovely to see you at any of the above events and once again, thanks for all the continued support 🙂
